Forty-seven congressional Republicans filed a letter of support Friday for a lawsuit in which enlisted service members claim President Joe Biden’s administration is infringing on their religious rights by refusing to grant exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

To date, Pentagon figures show, over 1.7 million U.S. military personnel have been either partially or fully vaccinated. That represents about 80% of the armed services. It also means that about 400,000 have yet to receive even a first shot or that the Pentagon does not know they have.
