Thousands of parents, teachers and staff with Houston Independent School District are nervous tonight knowing the district could be under new leadership as early as next week.
A 77-year-old woman from Houston, Texas, is being recognized for her over five decades of service as a teacher in the Houston Independent School District.
"These laws are intended to impede open and honest discussion about some of the hardest parts of our country s past," Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, told Newsweek.
Verizon is celebrating 10 years of its digital inclusion-focused education initiative by announcing that the telecommunications company will launch Verizon Innovative Learning Labs in 50 more Title I schools this fall and is adding 50 new Title I schools to its Innovative Learning Schools program, bringing the program’s total reach to 561 schools nationwide, the company said.
