Hurricane Lee was about 290 miles southeast of Nantucket at 5pm ET on Friday, with storm-force winds spanning 345 miles. Storm surge warnings were in place along Long Island and New England.
As rainfall arrives to coastal Massachusetts and Maine on Saturday, Hurricane Lee also threatens to bring damaging winds to parts of southeastern New England and Atlantic Canada.
Now a post-tropical cyclone, Lee continues to churn hurricane-strength winds early Saturday morning while delivering rainfall to parts of southeastern New England and Atlantic Canada, according to the National Hurricane Center.
The storm is forecast to brush the New England coast before making landfall later today in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, which will see the brunt of it.
