NAUGATUCK, CT The Naugatuck police and fire departments, in addition to divers, have suspended the search for a person in the waters at the Hop Brook Lake Dam in Naugatuck, according to officials. No one was found.
The search was conducted after reports that a person may have fallen into the water at about 11:35 a.m. Naugatuck Police Department and Fire Department received a report from a concerned citizen around noon today that led emergency services to believe that a person may have fallen into the water at the base of the Hop Brook Dam, Naugatuck police wrote in a statement. Based on that information, a search of the dam, downstream of Hop Brook, and the immediate area of the Army Corps of Engineers Hop Brook recreational area was launched.

BEACON FALLS First responders and a hiker rescued an injured woman who fell while hiking Saturday afternoon in the Naugatuck State Forest.
Fire officials said the woman was hiking with her dog on a trial when she slipped and broke her ankle. A man who was also hiking came across the woman and called 911.
Crews responded to the forest at about 2 p.m. Northwest Connecticut Public Safety Communication Center triangulated the cell signal from the 911 call and provided firefighters with a map that showed the location of the hikers. The map and information from the hikers on their whereabouts helped crews reach the woman in about 20 minutes, officials said.

BEACON FALLS First responders and a hiker rescued an injured woman who fell early Saturday afternoon in the Naugatuck State Forest.
Fire officials said the woman was hiking with her dog on a trial when she hurt her ankle. A man who was also hiking came across the woman and called 911.
Crews used Beacon Hose Co. No. 1’s utility terrain vehicles to reach the woman, who was taken to Waterbury Hospital for treatment. A family member came to the scene to pick up the dog.
Beacon Hose, Naugatuck Fire Department and Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Environmental Conservation Police responded to the scene.
