Last week the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee voted to increase the base rate to 3.00%. In this we have listed the change in mortgage rates by some of the UK’s best-known mortgage lenders since the base rate decision.
Average fixed rates moved up across the board this week, Moneyfacts data shows, although the rate at which they did so was slower than seen in previous weeks. The average rate for a two-year fix moved upwards by 2 basis points, to 3.87%, and the average rate for a three-year fix increased by 3 basis points, to 4.17%.
A rate rise by HSBC on its five year fixed remortgage deal this week has resulted in the lowest rate in this chart now standing at 0.97%, compared to 0.91% available last week
