Cases increased from 13,445 on Tuesday March 16th to 13,475 on Wednesday March 17th and 273 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.

The Health Unit says 2 cases are outbreak related, 8 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 1 case is community acquired, 1 case is travel-related to Michigan and 18 cases are still being investigated by the Health Unit’s nursing staff.
Vaccinations
Here’s the Health Unit’s vaccination update for today:
27,874 people have received only their first dose of the vaccine (+4,088 since yesterday)
11,881 people have received both doses of the vaccine (full series) (+4 since yesterday)

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit announced eight new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, the first time a single-digit case count has been seen since early November.
