While working at PSIC, Mike received many requests for insight on how to get a car dealer license, questions on how much is a dealer license, and where to obtain a low-cost dealer bond. This was approximately during the period of the recession in 2008 and 2009, when used auto dealers were witnessing their bond prices triple. It was an unfortunate time for these dealers.
Mike attempted to support dealers through referrals to insurance agents whom he had known for years and whom he thought to be reliable. However, it was soon discovered that their customer service standards were less than desirable. Mike began receiving calls from frustrated, prospective auto dealers who had been ignored for days after their referral for a quote. All these scenarios developed as a revelation.
