Northwest Arkansas drivers are expected to awaken this morning to the same slick road conditions as Monday and Tuesday, and officials have the same advice if they do: Stay home.
Sleet mixed with freezing rain began again in the region around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, which changed to snow in some areas, according to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, Okla. Sleet and snow also fell Monday.
The regional winter response team got to work early Monday providing shelter, meals, showers and a change of clothes to vulnerable populations as freezing temperatures and sleet crept into the area.
FORT SMITH The Van Buren Police Department reported all bridges in and out of the city were slick and hazardous, with numerous accidents causing long delays Monday morning, and asked the public to try to avoid traveling across these bridges.
