Winter weather advisory issued for southern half of Wisconsin, bitter cold to follow; storm looks to strengthen as it moves across state Joe Taschler, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel © National Weather Service Snow and/or a wintry mix is set to overspread southern Wisconsin overnight Wednesday and continue into Thursday morning. A winter storm is set to arrive in southern Wisconsin late Wednesday or early Thursday, bringing a mess of wintry weather, including the possibility of snow whipped up by gusty winds in some areas, forecasters say.  As the storm moves out of the area late Thursday or early Friday, it will drag bitter cold arctic air across the state this weekend and into next week, according to the National Weather Service.
