Art programme celebrates Vietnam Ethnic Group Culture Day Saturday, 2021-04-17 11:23:47  Font Size:    Font Size:     |   NDO – A colourful art programme was staged at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in the Dong Mo tourism area of Son Tay Town, Hanoi, on April 16 to celebrate Vietnam Ethnic Group Cultural Day (April 19). The event featured songs and dances recalling the national construction and defence while praising the Vietnamese people’s solidarity, national pride and efforts to preserve the cultural identities of its 54 ethnic groups. Speaking at the event, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung reminded the audience that on November 17, 2008, the Prime Minister issued a decision assigning April 19 as the Vietnam Ethnic Group Cultural Day.

A video clip comprising a series of paintings by children on doctors, who are called intimately as white blouse warriors during the COVID-19 fight, has been published recently by the Ministry of Health. The paintings by child artists are part of a campaign initiated by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health and United Nations Children s Fund (UNICEF). They depict doctors as white-blouse soldiers who have relentlessly fought against the pandemic, through which children’s gratitude toward health workers is expressed.
