This involves relocation of bus bays, kerbing and a new footpath.
The project also includes the provision of a pedestrian crossing, signing and lining and a cycle track southbound.
This is a part funded National Transportation Authority Scheme.
All NTA schemes are deemed essential as all cycling and walking projects are considered critical transport infrastructure.
Speaking to members of Greystones Municipal District in March, district engineer Ruairi O Hanlon said that the district had applied for funding in 2019 and it was granted.
He said that the area being partly in the Bray District, engineers from both districts would liaise on the project.
