Dalan) MANILA-Three neophytes, five former legislators and four reelectionist lawmakers comprised the 12 newly-elected senators in the just-concluded May 9 national and local polls. The new senators who will have a fresh 6-year term that will end in June 2028, were proclaimed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) headed by Chairman Saidamen Pangarungan, on Wednesday afternoon at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Forum Tent in Pasay City. Actor Robin Padilla, who is in first place with 26,612,434 votes, is a first time lawmaker, together with broadcaster Raffy Tulfo, who is in third place with 23,396,954 votes. Former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar, who was a former Las Pinas Representative, is also a first time member of the Upper House. (PNA file photo) MANILA-The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday has finished canvassing 172 out of the 173 local and overseas Certificates of Canvass (COCs). Based on National Tally Sheet Report No. 7, a total 55,549,791 or 83.11 percent of Filipinos out of the 66,839,976 registered have participated in the just-concluded May 9 polls. Only one COC from Lanao del Sur has not been canvassed as 14 barangays in the province, are going to conduct special polls. On the other hand, the poll body has yet to schedule the special polls in Shanghai, China where 1,991 Filipinos have yet to cast their votes due to the lockdown implemented by the host country because of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases. The poll body said the votes from Lanao del Sur and Shanghai will no longer affect the results of the 12 senators. Dalan) MANILA-The Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), has canvassed 82 Certificates of Canvass (COCs) for senators and party-lists representing over 33 million registered voters in the country and abroad. Comelec spokesman John Rex Laudiangco said the number is 50.36 percent of the total 173 COCs that they will canvass. "We're now on our 3rd day of canvassing for senators and party-lists. Canvass Report No. 2 presents the data from the 82 COCs already canvassed by the NBOC," he said in a press conference Thursday afternoon. "For the 82 COCs, it covers 33,965,926 registered voters. Voter turnout is 84.81 percent. That's how high our turnout in areas that have been canvassed," he added. He reported that their approximate turnout is around 80.5 to 81 percent. 121 COCs canvassed since Tuesday: Comelec

MANILA-The Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), on Friday reported that it has already canvassed a total of 121 Certificates of Canvass (COCs). Based on the available partial and official National Tally Sheet Report No. 3 of the NBOC, the canvassed COCs has a total of 50,806,959 votes. The figure is 83 percent voter turnout from the 60,642,773 total registered voters from the more than 120 COCs. On the other hand, Acting Comelec Spokesman lawyer John Rex Laudiangco said the NBOC has received all transmission of COCs from all regions in the country, except in Northern Mindanao, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and overseas voting. He said Northern Mindanao will reach 100 percent once the COC of Cagayan de Oro City is transmitted, while BARMM is only waiting for the Lanao del Sur COC.
