Education Minister Meets Heads Of Agencies

  The Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has met Heads of the various agencies under the Ministry of Education. The meeting, which was aimed at interacting with the heads, was also used to explain his vision which was basically about the transformation of the education sector in the country. Transformation Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum told the agency heads that his main goal was to fulfill the vision of the President who had set a bold national agenda for education transformation. The transformation, he said, was crucial since education played a very important role in every facet of the economy, and that   “no country can develop without education hence the need for the best minds and talents to be developed to support the development of the country”.

Women In Policy Series Featuring National Schools Inspectorate Authority Executive Director

  To commemorate International Women’s Day 2021, Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is featuring (in the month of March) influential female policy makers from several countries they work in around the world to highlight their experiences working in government and promoting a culture of evidence-based policymaking within their institutions, how the COVID-19 pandemic changed their work, and what long-term impacts they hope to achieve in the sectors in which they work. From Ghana, Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) spoke to the Executive Director/Inspector-General of Schools, Dr. Haggar Hilda Ampadu who directs the National Schools Inspectorate Authority. In this capacity, she is responsible for creating, institutionalizing, and overseeing the establishment, registration, licensing, inspections, and assessments of Ghana’s all public and private pre-tertiary schools in Ghana.
