Pretoria - Following an investigation into the cause of Wednesday's train accident where a Rovos Rail Train derailed in Pretoria, the Railway Safety Regulator has in terms of the National Railway Safety Regulator Act, 2002 (Act 16 of 2002) issued an improvement directive to both Rovos Rail and Transnet Freight Rail.
Group Chief Executive Officer of PRASA, Hishaam Emeran, said that they were pleased that the RSR has finally granted them the permit as it now affords them business operational certainty.
The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) has welcomed the issuing of an operating permit valid for 29 months by the Railway Safety Regulator (RSR).
