Heightened concerns over counseling and intervention. The bridge patrol captain says it benefits everybody. Years ago we would have maybe one or two on the sidewalk. But when we increase the staffing level we have three to four sometimes five assigned to the sidewalk or parking areas for the pedestrian approach to the span. Reporter the 36person unit combs the bridge by foot, in car, on cart. The size currently larger than the salts o police department. Other changes recently pb San Francisco marathoners won be able to run on the road after 2017. And stuntman scaling the bridge back in april brought more security and added scrutiny. And we want people to feel safe. Thats the number one things the officers are seeking for the citizens, safety. Knowing there are people its more peace of mind.
