BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - LSUâs ace Landon Marceaux was named one of the National Players of the Week by Collegiate Baseball newspaper on Monday, April 19.
Marceaux was magnificent in the Tigers opening series 5-1 win over No. 5 South Carolina on Thursday, April 15. On the mound he threw seven innings of shutout baseball allowing just three hits and striking out a career high 12 batters.

Since the injury to starting pitcher Jaden Hill, Marceaux has risen to the challenge and on the season has a 1.65 ERA ranking him No. 3 in the Southeastern Conference to go along with 67 total strikeouts, No. 7 in the SEC over 54.2 innings of work.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A pair of LSU Tigers earned Southeastern Conference players of the week honors after combining for seven home runs and 15 RBI in the Tigersâ five-game winning streak to help them improve to a 14-3 overall record.
LSU third baseman Cade Doughty was named SEC Player of the Week and shortstop Jordan Thompson was named SEC Co-Freshman of the Week.
Doughty was also named one of nine players for National Players of the Week by Collegiate Baseball newspaper. The third baseman launched five home runs, scoring six runs and collecting 12 RBI in the Tigersâ five wins. He went 7-for-21 at the plate while drawing five walks and a .444 on-base percentage.
