DIMAPUR As part of national oral cancer month, the dental unit of Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) conducted an oral cancer screening camp at Mount Olive College, Kohima, on Tuesday. The programme began with an invocation prayer said by the Chaplain, Newtoli Zhimomi and welcome address by the college’s principal, Swedezhonuo. An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Kohima, stated that the resource person and district oral health officer, Dr. I Simon Sumi, highlighted on risk factors and prevention of oral cancer. He also spoke on the importance of early detection and diagnosis of oral cancer which is the best preventive remedy. It stated that a total of 210 college students were screened. It added that free oral kits containing toothbrush, toothpaste and IEC materials were distributed.
