On Tuesday, events all around the country aimed to connect them for National Night Out.Community members and leaders explained why the annual night means so much.National Night Out was very different last year because of the coronavirus pandemic, but it’s back in full swing for 2021 with events in neighborhoods all over the country.It’s a party every year on the first Tuesday of August with lots of music, dancing, food, police engaging with neighbors and neighbors connected to information and services. It s about giving back, it s about giving of selflessness, it s about you, not about me, then it’s about me, community member Rickey Scott said. It s really important so that way our families can connect with them and get to know each other and build those relationships because that’s the way you build those connections and that’s how you support each other, community member Diana Stockwell said.Na
