Former followers and lawyers lashed out at a top Unification Church official for his “unapologetic apology” and shirking of responsibility over the suffering caused mainly by huge donations given to his religious organization.
An independent advocacy organization that runs international outreach programs for women and children from its headquarters in Japan says it is facing persecution for its ties to the Unification Church.
The Unification Church on Oct. 16 criticized the government’s request for a court dissolution order, saying its interpretation of the Religious Corporations Law is “completely out of line.”
