Today, there were 142 million americans employed. Reduction of 16. 6 million americans or 10. 5 . I want people to remember that 10. 5 . Over the last month or so, thereve been a number of respected economists to meet forecasts of how much our to shrink. These are folks like cbo and Federal Reserve board of governors, economists at Morgan Stanley and goldman sachs. The range of what they are predicting will shrink somewhere between 4. 6 and 8 . This is causing economic devastation. Real toll on young people and as a result of that, congress acted. We acted fast, swiftly, massively. We want to provide financial help to individuals that are unemployed all of a sudden through no fault of a their own. We want to help provide financial need to businesses to hopefully survive and rehire him
