Police officers from the Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department have served nine cease and desist notices over a two-week period to help tackle ghost brokers.

Speaking at the Court of Common Council today, City of London Police Authority Board (PAB) Chair, James Thomson, set out its policing priorities for the City of London Police (CoLP).
He said: “Our vision for the City is to make it the safest business district in the world, and for the City of London Police to continue to be the leading specialist force for protective security – and at a national level, for tackling economic crime and cyber security.
“A secure Square Mile is one of the reasons businesses choose to locate to London and the City.

The City of London Corporation’s Police Authority Board (PAB) will begin a recruitment drive for the next Commissioner of the City of London Police (City Police) next week.
The appointee will replace Commissioner Ian Dyson, who has announced his planned retirement after 38 years of distinguished service in policing.
Commissioner Dyson will be leaving the force at the end of 2021, having served in the role for almost six years.
The new Commissioner will lead the City Police, which is unique in policing by being the local force for the Square Mile as well as the National Lead Force for fraud and economic crime.
