It is present in essential activities in key sectors such as the Tourism sector, which, in the last 10 years, has represented an average contribution of 8.5% to the country s total Gross Domestic Product, according to data from the National Institute of Geography and Statistics (Inegi). Before the pandemic, tourism-related activities employed more than 2.3 million Mexicans, that is, 6% of the country s total paid employment.
