Twenty-seven people known to have experienced homelessness and died this year near Chico were honored in a name reading Thursday at Chico’s Our Hands, coinciding with National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day.
The annual Homeless Persons Memorial Day candlelight vigil Thursday evening in Yakima was among others throughout the country that remembered those who died this year without a home.
