The price of lumber and building materials are an all-time high and it s causing concerns for the housing market.
Lumber prices are up almost 200 percent compared to this time last year. KATV spoke with a home builder in Little Rock, River Rock Builders, and they said that if the supply doesn’t start meeting the demand especially when it comes to lumber we could experience a similar housing crisis like we saw in 2008. It would just be for a different reason.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, people spent more time at home and production of various goods slowed down. A year later, the housing industry is feeling the effects.
