Bahrain receives first batch of Covishield vaccine from India MANAMA, January 28, 2021 Bahrain today (January 28) received its first batch of the Covishield - AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, manufactured in India by the Serum Institute of India under the name Covishield.   The Covishield-AstraZeneca vaccine, produced by AstraZeneca in cooperation with the University of Oxford, and manufactured by the Serum Institute of India, has been approved for emergency use by the Kingdom’s National Health Regulatory Authority.   The vaccine will be available to all citizens and residents and distributed equitably to support the national vaccination action efforts, reported BNA.   Confirming this, Minister of Health Faeqa Saeed Al Saleh, said the first batch of the Covishield-AstraZeneca vaccine was delivered today by the Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, Piyush Shrivastav, at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
