As is the tradition, the WHO country office for Ghana, usually begins every year with a staff retreat to plan and priorities and strategies to strengthen WHO’s contribution to the national health agenda during the year. Albeit the COVID -19 pandemic situation and inability to organize a face-to-face retreat, the planning processes was done by clusters.
Working in collaboration with the Ministry of Health/Ghana Health Service and other allied health institutions and stakeholders, the WHO country office, provided support aimed at achieving its mission which is attaining the highest level of health by the people in the country though its six operational areas which are (i) Communicable Diseases (ii) Non-Communicable Diseases, (iii) Promoting Health through the Life Course (iv), Health Systems, (v) Preparedness, Surveillance and Response (vi) Corporate services and enabling functions.

Dubai: The UAE is on track towards achieving universal health coverage to all, as per the first National Health Account report of 2017.
The NHA report presents the UAE’s road map for health expenditure. It was conducted as per the global Statement of Health Account (SHA) standards is recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and was released by the Ministry of Health and Prevention on Sunday.
The health ministry based the health expenditure in households to the National Health Survey, which covered 10,000 households, while the expenditure for all other related sources came from the sources themselves. A team of experts gathered data and compiled it in a period of 10 months.

DUBAI The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) Sunday announced the results of the UAE’s 1st National Health Account (NHA) 2017, which was carried out in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and relevant health and government authorities.
The results were announced during a virtual media briefing held in presence of Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, assistant under-secretary of health centers and clinics, Ministry of Health and Prevention, and representatives from the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Department of Health-Abu Dhabi, Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Sharjah Health Authority, Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre (FCSC) and the Insurance Authority.
