The ongoing 2020 National Discount Festival (FDN 2020) aims to empower and help develop micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The MSME sector has over 60 million businesses and is one of the main drivers of the national economy, but has been most severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic during the past nine months.
The FDN 2020 is a collaborative event organized by the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Ministry and several SOEs that opened on Dec. 16 and runs through Dec. 31.
One of the biggest trade events in the country, the festival is intended to boost public interest in affordable, high-quality local products from 5,000 conventional vendors, 211,000 MSMEs, 65 e-commerce partners, four banks, 24 SOEs and affiliates, and 5 e-money operators. It also offers a variety of attractive discounts, such as special prices and cashback programs.
