28 May, Thimphu: A creche facility was inaugurated at the National Centre for Organic Agriculture, Yusipang to support the working mothers in performing their responsibilities efficiently and reduce their burden as well as have a gender sensitive and responsive working environment for achieving gender equality. The facility will also help educate the children who are not eligible for enrollment in the school and contribute in addressing the gender issues at work place. It was inaugurated by the Director General, National Commission for Women and Children (NCWC) and the Director, Department of Agriculture. There are 29 children (18 girls and 11 boys) enrolled at the facility benefiting the employees at the National Centre for Organic Agriculture, National Dairy Research Centre and Nucleus Piggery Breeding Centre and National Food Testing Laboratory.
