The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Taraba State has arrested a 35-year-old Chadian who allegedly sells narcotics to insurgents.
The suspect, Adama Issa, was reportedly arrested on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, in Jalingo, with 21.70 kilogrammes of Tramadol 225mg and 250mg, 15.7Kg of Exol.5; 100,050 France CAF and N61,000.
The arrest, according to a statement issued on Thursday by a spokesperson for the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, came barely one week after the arrest of a 70-year-old terrorist from the Republic of Niger, who supplied illicit drugs to Boko Haram members and bandits.
The Taraba State Commander of the agency, Suleiman Jadi, said Issa spoke only French and Arabic and claimed he was taking the illicit substances to Chad before he was intercepted in Jalingo.
