UNICEF Rwanda Humanitarian Situation Report - Reporting Period: 1 January to 31 March 2021 Format • 2 million people were reached with key messaging on COVID-19 prevention and access to services. • Through COVAX facility, UNICEF supported the development and submission of the vaccine request, cold chain equipment application and the National Deployment Vaccination Plan. • 27,527 refugee children were reached with quality inclusive education • 25,480 children in schools and communities were reached with hygiene promotion. • 1,884 refugee children were vaccinated against measles. • Of US$6 million appealed in 2021, UNICEF mobilized US$ 1,3 million, representing 22 per cent of the funding needed to address the urgent needs of women and children. United States provides additional $1,000,000 to support vaccination efforts in Armenia - aysor am

The United States government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is providing an additional $1,000,000 to support the efforts of the Government of Armenia to respond to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, bringing USAID’s total funding to date to combat COVID-19 to more than $11 million. This includes emergency funding to address immediate health needs and efforts to address the secondary and tertiary impacts of the pandemic on democratic development and economic growth. USAID is awarding the funds to UNICEF to provide targeted technical assistance to support and ensure effective implementation of COVID-19 vaccination efforts in Armenia, in accordance with the National Deployment Vaccination Plan.
