In an interview with Karan Thapar, Abdullah has also clarified that he – and presumably the Gupkar Alliance – will not boycott elections in J&K even if they’re held on the basis of electoral rolls that include non-locals.
Other politicians of Jammu and Kashmir have also lashed out at the BJP-led central government on its decision to remove the image and name of Sheikh Abdullah from police medals and other institutions.
While addressing the BJP karyakartas in Ahmedabad, JP Nadda, taking a jibe at Congress, said that the party was neither Indian nor national but just a brother and sister party.
"The biggest lie is that there was an NC government [as projected by the film]. It was the governor's rule in 1990 in J&K when the Kashmiri Pandits left. At the Centre, it was the BJP-backed government headed by V.P. Singh," he said.
