The Department of Agriculture-Central Luzon has provided livelihood provision to the indigenous people (IP) community in Barangay Mawakat, Floridablanca, Pampanga on Tuesday (June 14, 2022). The governor of South Cotabato had vetoed last month’s lifting by the provincial board of a 12-year ordinance disallowing open-pit mining in the province.
Environmental group Kalikasan People s Network for the Environment on Saturday called on provincial officials from South Cotabato to uphold the veto on lifting the open-pit mine ban in the area.
