The directive underscores that proactive response is imperative, particularly in light of the increasingly abnormal weather conditions and rising saline intrusion in the Mekong Delta following tidal patterns.
Until the end of 2023, there is a possibility of two to three tropical storms and tropical depressions entering the East Sea (known internationally as the South China Sea), including one or two storms that may directly impact Việt Nam.
Authorities were directed to inform vessels, especially tourist boats, about the typhoon’s location and movement so they could proactively avoid or evacuate from dangerous areas. Military units in the affected areas would be mobilised to provide support and assistance to help affected residents recover from the disaster.

Dong Nai (VNA) – More than 5,300sq.m of dioxin-contaminated
land in Ho Cong 2 area at Bien Hoa airport in the southern province of Dong Nai
was detoxified and recovered, according to the National Steering Committee on
the settlement of post-war unexploded ordnance and toxic chemical consequences
in Vietnam (Steering Committee 701).
The treated area met the requirements of dioxin contaminated
level to Vietnamese standards, ensuring safety to people and the environment.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) has asked other ministries, agencies and localities to take action in response to World Wetlands Day (February 2).
