National Broadband Ireland (NBI), the company rolling out the new high speed fibre broadband network under the Government’s National Broadband Plan (NBP), has announced that construction has commenced to deliver high-speed broadband to almost 3,400 premises in the rural areas surrounding the Ballinaboola deployment area in County Wexford.
Donegal's Inis Mhic an Doirn, which has no running water or regular ferry service, was one of the first offshore islands to receive fiber broadband as part of the Government's National Broadband Plan. A young couple from Dublin has since relocated to take advantage of the upgrade.
