RENO, Nev. (AP) A 21-year-old Salvadoran immigrant who faces the possibility of the death penalty if convicted of killing four northern Nevadans during a two-week crime rampage in January 2019 is now scheduled to go to trial in September.

After voting in every primary and general election in Carson City for a decade, Cooke sold his Bodie Drive home and became a full-time recreational vehicle resident upon retirement five years ago.
One person is dead after an accident this morning eight miles east of Fallon on Highway 50. A male driver was killed in the two-vehicle accident and a female sustained injuries and was transported to Bannar Churchill Memorial Hospital, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Her condition is unknown at this time.
(AP) - Gov. Jim Gibbons has announced plans to create a Nevada Crime Commission.Gibbons office says the commission would examine current crime problems in the state and those that could emerge and would look for solutions.
