The President committed to sustain the military’s modernization program after thanking the troops for their contribution in addressing the coronavirus pandemic, natural disasters and other calamities that hit the country this year.
Duterte made the statement when he attended the 85th anniversary celebration of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) via video conference in Davao City.
“The trials we faced this year underscored the need to make the AFP even more responsive to the most challenging of situations. I therefore reiterate my unyielding commitment to pursue the full implementation of the AFP Modernization Program,” he said.

The Forum, presented by San Miguel Corp., Go For Gold, MILO, Amelie Hotel Manila, Braska Restaurant, and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), is set at 10:30 a.m.
