but lately, even the fairly ra-ra hometown papers of oil country seem to be realizing this thing with the blowout preventers could be a real problem. the times picayune today saying the industry and government should, quote, learn from the problems inside bp s blowout preventer and make adjustments if necessary. the mobile press register s editorial saying, clearly, further study is needed to make sure that the nation doesn t experience another catastrophe like the bp spill. don t take it from me. take it from them. joining us now frances coleman editorial page for the mobile press register. thank you very much for your time. you re welcome. your paper in the past has taken an encouraging stance toward offshore drilling, particularly given the impact economically it has in coastal alabama. i don t think we need to debate the big picture of drilling here but i do want to hear from you how important you have felt this
you and ms. behar reacted the way you did because it is a fact that that happened. and i did not mean by stating that fact to imply anything negative about people who believe in islam. i just was saying that 70% of the nation doesn t want the mosque near ground zero because they feel it s inappropriate site. i understand that bill. bill: i m glad you understand that. but the phraseology that you used when you say muslims killed us. bill: is that not a fact. that imply when you say make it a blanket statement like that mohammed ali. bill: do you really think that i think mohammed ali and kareem abdul jabbar were involved. i don t worry about what you think. bill: did anybody think so? yes. bill: really? do you think people think mohammed ali are involved. they remember is he a muslim. muslims killed us. you are a really great showman. you are a great guy to talk to, but sometimes i think you give yourself less credit, which is

problems coming. and, you know, try to get ahead of the game and get people geared up for the disasters that were coming. and we ve talked about all of this. none of this has been a shock or a surprise to us. the only surprise is that the rest of the nation doesn t see or hear about the problems that are ongoing here. on the coast of louisiana, we live in a state of emergency 24 hour das a day, 365 days a year. it s a fragile place. we re always waiting for the next hit. obviously you can see that we keep getting hit. but people here are strong, and they can handle it. we just have to be smart about it. we have to let these people jump in there and help. they re trying to save their own livelihoods. they re frustrated right now because they can t just get in there and help fix this problem. we know in a big way you, tad benoit, dr. john, are part of that ongoing effort to try to offer as much help as you can to our fellow brethren there right on the gulf coast.
