2021 Early Signing Day Primer and Thread

2021 Early Signing Day Primer and Thread Share this story Photo by Chris Parent/Collegiate Images/Getty Images LSU’s hellacious 2020 season took a turn for the better Saturday night when a depleted Tiger team ruined the Florida Gators season with a 37-34 win in The Swamp. Now LSU is hoping that momentum can extend to Wednesday. While LSU has struggled on the field, their efforts on the recruiting trail have been top notch. Despite opt-outs, injuries, a historically bad defense and a 4-5 record, LSU has positioned themselves to have their third straight top-five recruiting class. Since we last talked about LSU’s 2021 class, the Tigers were ranked No. 3 nationally with 20 commits in hand. That’s dropped slightly with Nathaniel Wiggins, a four-star corner from Atlanta, flipping to Clemson. If you’re keeping score this is the second year in a row Clemson’s snatched a corner from LSU. Damarius McGhee Signs with LSU

Damarius McGhee Signs with LSU LSU adds a corner to its 2021 class Share this story Gainesville Sun-USA TODAY NETWORK Four-star corner back Damarius McGhee signed his letter of intent with LSU Wednesday, giving the Tigers their line corner in its 2021 recruiting class. McGhee, from the Pensacola area, received an offer from LSU at the end of August. He was committed to Tennessee at the time of his offer, but McGhee de-committed from the Vols around Thanksgiving. Standing at a reported 6’1” and 163 pounds, McGhee is a top-100 prospect in the 247 Sports composite, and No. 8 corner overall. Coming into Early Signing Day, LSU had four safeties in its recruiting class but no corners. Nathaniel Wiggins, who was committed to LSU, flipped his commitment to Clemson on Monday.

Clemson Recruiting: Korey Foreman Update, Plans at CB - Sports Illustrated Clemson Tigers News, Analysis and More

Dec 10, 2020 With the early signing period set to begin Dec. 16, the Clemson Tigers are currently attempting to put the finishing touches on another stellar recruiting class. Clemson has 17 players committed in a class that is currently ranked inside the top-five. Considering there has been a dead period in place since the spring, that in and of itself is a testament to exactly how well this coaching staff can recruit. The 2021 class is all but done, but there is one position that has yet to be addressed and that is cornerback. With Nyland Greene committing to Georgia last week, the Tigers now find themselves having to look elsewhere and with not a lot of time to do so.
