Prosecutors opened their case against a man who killed a South Carolina college student by saying that she suffered from “heinous, cruel, and malicious acts” when she was kidnapped as she was attempting to return home.
On March 29, 2019, Samantha Josephson, a senior at the University of South Carolina, was killed after she mistakenly entered what she believed to be her Uber, instead of a car belonging to Nathaniel David Rowland.
The New Jersey native was leaving Columbia’s Five Points entertainment district when she entered Rowland’s black Chevrolet Impala.
