Corporate communications gurus are supposed to solve problems. CNN spokesman Matt Dornic transcended the bounds of his job description on Wednesday by needlessly creating one.
Dumbfounded journalists pounced on Dornic after he attempted to shame a Fox News reporter for practicing standard journalism by reaching out to potential sources.
It began when Dornic derisively posted screen shots of innocuous LinkedIn messages sent by Fox News reporter Brian Flood to CNN employees requesting interviews and accused the reporter of trolling for quotes. After all these years of covering CNN, Brian still has to troll LinkedIn for anonymous quotes (from employees of literally any department) to use in his hit pieces, Dornic tweeted. We’ve been forwarded over a dozen of these in the past 24 hours.

Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) faced backlash on Monday after calling the push to give restaurant workers higher priority during the vaccine rollout “a cheap, insincere discussion.”
Despite his decision to open indoor dining on Feb. 14, or Valentine’s Day, Cuomo has determined that restaurant workers do not qualify as essential, although they interact with significant numbers of people daily, and were therefore given lower priority amid the state’s vaccine rollout.
During his Monday press briefing, Cuomo was asked about the rationale behind opening up indoor dining, and whether the decision to do so gave restaurant workers vaccine eligibility.

well, again, it s sort of i don t want to say whether it s genuine or disengine won but the fact is he made these comments as recently as last year. he said it for over a decade. now he s arguing that once he got to the white house and once he joined this position, he became a bit more open minded and he distanced himself from those past views. but, again, the apology doesn t make too much sense when you consider all of the stuff that he said in the past. yes, operative words, i regret the manner in which those thoughts were expressed. i mean, there s no it s almost as if, you know, the apology has a lot more to do with the forum in which those thoughts were expressed as opposed to the thoughts themselves. all right, nathan mcdermott, thank you so much, appreciate it. all right, so much more in the newsroom straight ahead,
