Barker, Nathan Barker, and Ben Watkins. Everyday these boys would always go to there church and shoot some hoops in the gym. Landyn was this 7’0 skinny kid and was an outstanding stealer, Angel was this 6’5 kid and his 3 point range is ridiculous and can shoot those 2’s from anywhere. T.J. is this 6’8 and a total tank, his dunking ability is insane! Ben Watkins is 6’4 and his ability to hit those corner shots are incredible! Nathan is 6’1 and he was basically the leader of all these boys, but he can shoot those 3’s and is hot from anywhere from the court.

Mrs. Vicki Alica (Clabough) Wilson, age 69, passed away on Feb. 17, 2021, after a 13-year long battle with breast cancer. Vicki passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family as she drifted away to be with the Lord. She was a well-loved pillar in her communities of Maryville and Seymour. She was born Aug. 6, 1951, in Maryville, Tennessee, to loving parents Robert “Hickey” and Elliot Clabough. Vicki held various occupations in her lifetime, including several in the retail industry; however, she took enormous pride in the work she provided in the Children’s section of the Blount County Public Library. She was known for her abilities as a fantastic storyteller and cherished every moment she spent with her community’s many children. She was an active member of her community and spent numerous hours volunteering

UA Students Pursue Diverse Areas of Interest, Train for Niche Careers

While areas like science and the arts might not often intersect, the opportunity to combine them into one path of study gives many UA students the means to pursue their passions. Nathan Barker, a senior majoring in music performance, spends long days attending science labs, music classes and ensemble rehearsals before retreating to the Billingsley Music Building, where he spends late nights working to perfect his clarinet repertoire. Barker, who plans to use his musical background in the medical world, also makes time between classes to conduct research in the Music Cognition Lab, where he studies the relationship between music and the brain in depth.
