Hardin County Public Library will soon have science kits available for area children thanks to the Kentucky Science Center and Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives.
There will be 225 Do Science at Home STEAM kits available for children in grades 3-6. They also have six STEAM Explore kits to be checked out by families that include items such as a microscope, kitchen science equipment, conductors and insulators.
âDo Science at Home STEAM kits will help kids think big and act like creators and producers instead of just consumers,â said Nathalie Wilms, head of youth services at the public library.
Wilms gave the example of the Secret Agent Kit that allows students to combine imagination with STEAM skills to become pretend spies.
