U.S. Sen. Bob Casey called Monday for the impeachment of Donald Trump and consequences for members of Congress “who led the effort to overthrow a democratic election.”
“If they refuse to resign their office, then Congress should begin to explore censure or expulsion,” Casey, D-Scranton, said in a statement provided by a spokesperson shortly before 6 p.m. “Failing to hold those responsible for the insurrection accountable would be a profound injustice and give a green light to future authoritarians.”

Penn Hills Elementary School will close its campus a week after to reopening to students because four people associated with the school tested positive for covid-19, district officials said Sunday.
The Allegheny County Health Department advised the school to switch to all-virtual learning for at least a week, according to an “urgent” update posted online by Penn Hills School District Superintendent Nancy Hines.
Officials did not say whether the people infected with covid were students, teachers or other affiliates or staff members.
Police are investigating an apparent shooting early Saturday in Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood.
Shortly before 3 a.m., authorities received a ShotSpotter alert of gunshots fired in the 200 block of Estella Street, Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said.
Police officers from the city’s Zone 3 station arrived to find “a crime scene but no victim,” Cruz said.
Then, “a short time later,” a nearby hospital treated a male patient who arrived with a gunshot wound to the lower leg.
“He arrived in stable condition,” Cruz said.
Officials did not provide further details about the person who was shot.
Police have not released any information about possible suspects or charges.
