Heroin dealer benefits as judge delivers a message to prosecutors
Reno County District Judge Tim Chambers sent a message to prosecutors Friday during the last criminal sentencing he conducted before he retired.
A northside Hutchinson woman arrested three times in the last year for possessing heroin and who admitted to being a drug dealer benefitted.
Under a plea deal, Brittany Edwards, 31, of 2900 Acres Road, pleaded guilty to more than a dozen counts, including two counts each of possessing more than 3.5 grams of heroin with intent to distribute and trafficking in a correctional facility.
According to a recitation of facts by Assistant Reno County District Attorney Natasha Esau during Friday’s hearing, Edwards was first arrested after a traffic stop by a Reno County sheriff’s deputy in the 3800 block of East Stroud on Jan. 2, 2020.
