The Kogi Central senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barr. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has rejected the results of the senatorial election. She rejected the results over manipulations of the processes, doctoring of figures, cancellation of polling units where she won and invasion of many polling units by armed thugs loyal to the All Progressives Congress.

Some women in Kogi State on Wednesday protested against what they described as “injustice” following the outcome of the senatorial election in their district.   The group asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party as the rightful winner of the Kogi Central senatorial district election in the state.   Some of the women adorned white attire and waved leaves as they marched on the streets.

The Yahaya Bello-led government in Kogi State has stopped Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the Kogi Central Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party from paying the West Africa Examination Council National Examination Council fees of secondary school students in the senatorial district. Akpoti-Uduaghan had on December 11, 2022, declared to donate N5million to offset WAEC fees of students in the five local government areas of the Kogi Central senatorial district.
