The Station House firework night raises money for foodbank

A PADGATE pub has provided a foodbank with nearly £1,500 to support them in December following a successful fireworks display.

ITHACA, NY For 12 years Christa Núñez, originally from Michigan, and her husband, Pete, originally from the Dominican Republic via NYC, lived in Northern California.  “We lived in a community amongst the Redwoods, only 20 miles from the ocean and three hours from San Francisco.”  But as their children grew up and California was beset by droughts and wildfires, the Núñez family was ready to pull up stakes and find a community in which their dream would flourish. “We want all children to have access to nature for free play in beautiful green spaces. During our years in California, we learned and talked and tried out our ideas, but we needed to find the right community. By the time we found Ithaca, we were ready to get started and break ground.”

Children at St Chad s get into the festive spirit

The whole school wore Christmas jumpers to bring some festive cheer Pupils create festive cheer wearing Christmas jumpers Headteacher Natalie Hughes said: We have worked hard in school to make Christmas as merry as possible within the current restrictions and make sure that the children enjoy the build up to the festive season. As well as making Christingles and singing carols, we have been busy writing to Santa, holding our own lantern parade and enjoying Christmas jumper day. Our children and staff have worked incredibly hard this term and thoroughly deserve to enjoy the festivities before having a well earned break.

Children at St Chad s complete Rudolph run for St Luke s Hospice

CHILDREN had fun completing a sponsored Rudolph run. Pupils at St Chad s CE Primary and Nursery School in Winsford were delighted to use the new track around their school field. Sporting Reindeer antlers and red noses, boys and girls raised money for St Luke s Hospice. Children raise money for St Luke s Hospice The track, funded with generous grants and donations, was put in place this term. It means that children can access facilities around the school grounds in all weathers, at play times and during lessons to help them keep active. Pupils can now enjoy activities outside all year around on their new track
