NASSAU, BAHAMAS With the support of the Bahamas Society of Engineers (BSE) and Bahamas Engineering and Technology Advancement Camp (BETA Camp), Bahamian students are getting a personal look at how engineers create the world that has never been. From February 22 to 27, BSE is observing National Engineers Week by hosting a series of presentations for public and private school students across the country in partnership with BETA Camp and the Bahamas Ministry of Education.

In preparation for the arrival of COVID-19 vaccines, the 10-member National COVID-19 Vaccine Consultative Committee is working to finalize the operational plan to distribute the vaccine to eligible residents in the shortest possible time across The Bahamas, the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) said yesterday.
The prime minister recently appointed the committee to advise him and the Ministry of Health on the development of the strategy, policies and activities related to the National COVID-19 Vaccination Plan.
The committee will also review and guide the vaccine implementation schedules developed by the ministry’s technical team, as part of the monthly reports required for submission to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), OPM said.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) yesterday named the members of the newly formed National COVID-19 Vaccine Consultative Committee, which includes stakeholders from the public and private sectors, as well as community and religious leaders.
Recently appointed by Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis, the committee was formed to advise the prime minister and the Ministry of Health on the development of the strategy, policies and activities related to the National COVID-19 Vaccination Plan.
The committee will also review and guide the vaccine implementation schedules developed by the Ministry of Health’s technical team, as part of the monthly reports required for submission to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

Maya Nottage, APR, Regional Marketing Manager at Nassau Cruise Port Ltd. in Nassau, Bahamas, has been elected a 2021 international delegate-at-large for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). She is one of three international members and two national members to be elected to the position.
The five delegates were recommended by a committee that reviewed all the applicants for the positions. After the slate was approved by the PRSA Board of Directors, the nominees were then presented to the PRSA Assembly for approval by delegates representing all of PRSA’s communities.
