ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa said the party’s 55th national conference needed to send a “very clear signal” that it was taking steps to resolve challenges facing the country such as the load-shedding and unemployment. Ramaphosa was addressing delegates on Thursday morning in hybrid format during the session for the continuation of the national conference which was adjourned in Nasrec, Johannesburg.
Newly elected ANC national executive committee member Babalo Madikizela says the provincial executive committee has not done enough to unite the party in the Eastern Cape. Madikizela, the former provincial treasurer of the party, said this prevented the province from securing crucial spots, particularly in the top seven, at the ANC’s 55th national elective conference at Nasrec in Johannesburg.
With renewal high on the ANC agenda, delegates are expected to decide the nuts and bolts of how the party will deliver the project over the next five years when they meet later this week to wrap up the 55th national conference.
