DA bid to remove MPAC chair from post

The official opposition in the Buffalo City Metro council wants its municipal public accounts committee boss sacked. DA chief whip Anathi Majeke last week filed a motion of no confidence against MPAC chair Sakhumzi Caga. The party wants Caga removed from his post over management of the affairs of the committee.

Electricity alarm bells ring for cash-strapped BCM

Buffalo City Metro’s electricity woes might deepen the city’s cash flow crisis if they are left unattended, authorities have warned. The city had a deficit of R432.4m on its electricity revenue by the end of October. This is the amount billed to residents but not collected since the start of the financial year in July.
