The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Public Prosecution, chaired the 15th meeting of GCC attorneys general at the Al-Bustan Palace Hotel in Muscat on Monday.
On behalf of His Majesty the Sultan, HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, on Monday received participants in the 15th meeting of the GCC attorneys general, hosted by the Sultanate of Oman.
18% decline in number of cases last year: Public Prosecution

Muscat: The Public Prosecution Department (PPD) reaffirmed that the number of cases filed to its divisions dropped to 23,831 in 2020, compared to 28,020 cases, a decline of 18 per cent.
The statement was made on Tuesday by the PPD during a press conference during which it released annual statistical indicators about claims, judicial action and numbers of suspects and verdicts.
In reply to a question by Oman News Agency (ONA) about the status of employees expelled from their jobs and those unable to pay outstanding dues, the Attorney General, Nasr Khamis Al Sowa’ee, said that the PPD will never take action against any employees who lost their jobs because of the current adverse conditions.
